Greenwood Fire members with the cooperation of Avoca Fire member Mark Mullen and Federal Express recently shipped several dozen sets of Turnout Gear to Fire Departments in Jasper County Mississippi. The departments were affected by Hurricane Katrina back in 2006. Three years later, agencies in the Jasper County area are in dire need of any type of fire equipment. The hurricane severely damaged both Fire Apparatus/Equipment and smaller items such as turnout gear.

The Greenwood agency donated turnout gear that was no longer in use in Moosic and held in storage. The turnouts were in used condition. Department members and officers are hopeful that the Jasper area can benefit from this donation. We are very appreciative for the support we received from Fed Ex who provided the shipping.
